Canadian Housing Markets Will Begin 2022 with the Tightest Demand/Supply Conditions Ever Recorded

Our first blog of 2022 was also our most read. After a year like 2021, our readers were hungry for more housing market insights.

Senior Economist Shaun Cathcart said, “As we ring in the New Year and finish calculating the final numbers for 2021, its clear housing markets across Canada will face the tightest demand/supply conditions ever recorded.”

He also hypothesized that higher interest rates would cause headwinds in housing markets, “But it may not look the same as in past tightening cycles.” And it looks like Cathcart was right across the board.

While many buyers do their due diligence by hiring a building inspector and getting a notary or lawyer to do a title search,  it’s also important to get accurate dimensions of the property you’re about to purchase. This information can help inform the rights and limitations associated with your land.

Here’s what you need to understand about property lines and boundary rights.
