CREA’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism Commitments

As the national association for REALTORS® in Canada, and one of Canada’s largest trade associations, we are privileged to serve a diverse membership—more than 140,000 REALTORS® strong—that live, work and give back in nearly every community across our great country. We have a prominent voice within our industry, on Parliament Hill and beyond. We own and operate Canada’s No. 1 real estate website, REALTOR.ca, which reached 73 million Canadians last year alone. We are an employer of more than 100 talented team members all dedicated to supporting the success of our REALTOR® members. All of this to say, our work has an impact on the world around us and we take this responsibility seriously.

We want our members to know that our Board of Directors and management team recently formally committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, inclusive, and anti-racist environment for all our employees, volunteers, and members. We have defined what the terms diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism (DEIA) mean to us and our goals for bringing these values to life at CREA. We invite you to read through our DEIA commitments, which we’ve made publicly available on CREA.ca.

“CREA will work to create and maintain an inclusive environment in which all employees and volunteers feel valued, respected and supported and that they can bring their authentic selves to work.”

We are actively ramping up our DEIA efforts this year while recognizing that this work will never be complete. Our current efforts are focused on gathering baseline metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement, and building DEIA capacity throughout all departments and at all levels.

We look forward to sharing further updates on our progress with you as we hold ourselves accountable, build capacity, and make continuous improvement in this important area.
