Professional development

The Hub provides dozens of learning opportunities to support REALTORS® and help you stand out in a competitive market.

Members can register for several certifications and designations directly on the Hub. Under the Professional Development section, you’ll be able to see options available to you based on your role and CREA’s current offerings.

Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) designation

Opportunities in the global real estate market are growing annually both inbound with foreign investment in Canada and outbound with Canadians looking to invest globally. The National Association of REALTORS® developed the CIPS designation to provide the education, resources and network to do just that and CREA is pleased to offer the designation courses here in Canada.

CIPS courses are offered throughout the year. You can view information on the CIPS page on the Hub.

Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB) designation

The CRB designation is designed to elevate professional standards, enhance individual and office performance, and designate real estate professionals who demonstrate the knowledge essential to the practice of brokerage management. You can find more information on the designation requirements on the Hub.

National Leadership Program (NLP)

Volunteers are an integral part of all associations. The NLP is designed to build stronger leaders by ensuring they have sound industry knowledge and an understanding of association governance and are equipped with the right leadership knowledge and tools to lead.

The program consists of three leadership courses, each offering valuable insights into being an effective leader in the industry.

Canadian REALTOR® Association Executive (CRAE)

The CRAE designation provides industry-specific knowledge and was developed by real estate executives for real estate executives and senior staff.

There are two streams of required courses; three courses from the National Leadership Program and five all-new modules designed specifically for the CRAE designation. Each course offers unique insight into the different areas of real estate association management and have been designed with improved accessibility and convenience. Each course has an online eLearning component, available anytime at your convenience. Once you complete the online course and submit a short assignment, you can then register for a collaborative networking session, either in-class or via webinar.

Together the courses offer a comprehensive look at industry, governance, and operational issues, and at the technology tools available to increase the efficient management of a real estate association.
