Canada’s continued draw from interested international buyers looking to purchase real estate has created increasing demand across REALTOR.ca.
As REALTOR.ca becomes a global destination for Canadian real estate, so too must its content.
In March, we introduced Chinese welcome pages to highlight information targeted at prospective buyers in Mainland China as well as Chinese Canadians. The welcome pages, written in simplified Chinese, include information about buying in Canada, its real estate market, its educational system, how to connect with a REALTOR® and much more.
But, appealing to consumers in Mainland China means more than just translating and updating our own content. It also means giving REALTOR.ca a strong presence on Weibo and WeChat; the most popular and influential social platforms in China (see the top right corner of the welcome pages for links to these pages).
It also means driving more traffic to your listings and REALTOR.ca profiles. That’s another reason why it’s so important you regularly make sure your profile information is up-to-date … and filled with as many languages as you speak. In this case, Mandarin and Cantonese would likely be most useful.
In addition, if you have current or potential clients who are looking for resources in Chinese, these pages are a great place to start. As you know, our Homebuyers’ Road Map is also translated and available online.
Since launching the pages just under a month ago, the results so far have been positive. The welcome pages are also beginning to drive new traffic to REALTOR.ca from the top search engines in Mainland China: Baidu and 360.
This is just the start. REALTOR.ca will be creating brand pages in five other countries this year, starting with improvements for buyers in the United States and then moving across the ocean to India.
Stay tuned for more exciting news on how REALTOR.ca can help support your international business.
