The Weekly Blend is your “weekly” source covering real estate news that you just may have missed. Our hard-at-work Weekly Blend crew scours the web looking for obscure, bizarre, interesting and informative real estate (or real estate related) stories. If you have one you’d like to share please feel free to share it in our comments section or tweet about it using the hashtag #WeeklyBlend. So brew yourself a fresh cup of coffee and enjoy these stories. Maybe even share them with friends or colleagues. Happy reading!

Here are my weekly picks:

Not-entirely-true fact of the day: 92 percent of homeowners have bought a Lack table from IKEA. Here’s a list of the top 12 most popular IKEA products of all time.

A REALTOR® in Tuscaloosa has the billboard of the week. After LSU fired their football team’s head coach, the REALTOR® used the coach’s face beside the words: “Looking for a new home? Call Tyler Bigbie.”

You might go a bit Overboard if you buy this house, but it’s perfect for The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band. The Thing about this house is it’s Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell’s home, now on the market for $7.25 million.

I want to take you to Bermuda for this celebrity home on the market. The mansion belonging to Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones is going for $14 million.

This latest report is bad news for the couples mentioned above. Celebrity homes usually stay on the market longer and sell for less than their asking price.

Don’t expect to save money buying the smallest house on the market in San Francisco. This 577-square-foot house is going for $649,000.

The owner of a Prince Edward Island golf course has an unexpected reason as to why he’s selling his 60-hectare property. He wants to golf more.

The wizard housing market is hot! A couple Blends ago we told you about Harry Potter’s house hitting the market. Now Hermione’s house is for sale. Are these places cursed or…?

To wrap up the Blend this week, go Blue Jays! While this article is from last year, have a look inside the Toronto Blue Jays lavish locker room. Hopefully it’s filled with champagne showers later this month.
