The Ultimate Playlist for REALTORS®

There’s nothing better than finding the right song to match your mood.

It needs to have the right vibes, as the kids say (do kids say that?).

Whether you’re listening to the radio in your car on route to an open house, on speakers at home while submitting an offer or with your earbuds while snapping photos of your next listing, we’ve compiled the perfect playlist just for you, full of bops (the kids definitely say that one).

It might be a bit on the nose that these songs all have one thing in common: home, that’s because we know as a real estate professional, finding the right home for your clients is always on your mind.

In no particular order, here are some tunes we recommend listening to while you’re working.

Editor’s note: Some of the songs and videos featured below may contain swearing or mature content. Listener and viewer discretion is advised.

1.      Our House – Madness

A classic earworm. We bet you’re already singing, “Our house, in the middle of the street | Our house, in the middle of our…”

2.      Lego House – Ed Sheeran

“I’m gonna pick up the pieces | And build a Lego house | When things go wrong, we can knock it down.”

Harry Potter actor Rupert Grint plays an obsessed fan in the music video of this British pop song.

3.      Take Me Home, Country Roads – John Denver

No road trip would be complete without this country classic. Released in 1971, the song has remained popular for decades and in recent years has inspired several memes.

Let’s all sing the chorus together:

“Country roads, take me home | To the place I belong | West Virginia, mountain mama | Take me home, country roads.”

4.      My House – Flo Rida

Ready to get the party started? This track by Flo Rida will surely get you dancing.

“Welcome to my house | Play that music too loud.”

5.      Home – Phillip Phillips

“Just know you’re not alone | ‘Cause I’m going to make this place your home.”

He’s no Kelly Clarkson, but American Idol season 11 winner Phillip Phillips made quite the impression with his debut single. It was the best-selling coronation song by any Idol alum in the U.S.

6.      Sweet Home Alabama – Lynyrd Skynyrd

“Sweet home Alabama | Where the skies are so blue | Sweet home Alabama | Lord I’m comin’ home to you.”

If I had a nickel for every time I heard someone butcher this song at karaoke…I’d have a lot of nickels.

Even if you’ve never been south of Windsor, Ontario (one of the most southern areas in Canada), I’m sure you’ll be singing along to this Southern rock tune in no time.

7.      Home – Michael Bublé

“Let me go home | I’m just too far | From where you are | I wanna come home.”

Home is credited as the Canadian crooner’s breakthrough hit and now we all have to listen to his Christmas albums in grocery stores every year.

8.      Almost Home – Mariah Carey

The Heartbreaker singer was commissioned by Disney to sing Almost Home as the main track from the 2013 movie Oz the Great and Powerful. The lyrics pay homage to Dorothy, the main character from the classic movie The Wizard of Oz.

“When you’re almost there | And you’re almost home | Just open up your eyes and go, go | When you’re almost there | Almost home | Know you’re not alone | You’re almost home.”

9.      Home – Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes

I’m sure many lovebirds agree with the sentiment of this song: “Home is wherever I’m with you.”

10. Honey, I’m Home – Shania Twain

It’s hard to believe this 1998 track was Twain’s seventh and (to date) final No. 1 single on the Billboard country music charts. It’s the perfect song to sing along to when you’re having a bad day.

“Honey, I’m home and I had a hard day | Pour me a cold one and oh, by the way| Rub my feet, give met something to eat.”

11. Coming Home – Leon Bridges

“Baby, baby, baby | I’m coming home | To your tender sweet loving.”

The American soul singer is best known for this 2015 love song which features a unique retro flair.

12. Home – Foo Fighters

This ballad is a bit different than the usual rock tracks the Foo Fighters are known for, but front man Dave Grohl says it’s one of the best songs he’s ever written.

“All I want is to be home.”

13. Comin’ Home – City and Colour

“Well I’ve been through Nova Scotia, Sydney to Halifax | But I’ll never take any pictures ‘cause I know I’ll just be right back | ‘Cause I’m comin’ home | Comin’ home.”

REALTORS® might not be touring across North America, but I’m sure many can relate to the feeling of yearning for home while you’re on the road.
