A year in Review: How REALTOR.ca helped Canadians succeed with the largest transaction of their life

2016 was a big year. Some might even say, surreal. All month, we’ll be sharing some of our own accomplishments and highlights from the past year. Have something to add? Feel free to share in the Comments section below.

REALTOR.ca has long established itself as the go-to website for Canadian and international visitors looking for property in Canada. As the most popular real estate website in Canada for those looking to buy and/or sell residential or commercial property, the website is trusted for its quality, accuracy, timeliness and the fact that it is free of advertising.

2016 was a big year for REALTOR.ca with the introduction of a number of features consumers were looking for to help them with their home buying journey. Features like the ability to log in and save more favorites, create notifications (coming soon) and share favorites with others, as well as the enhanced REALTOR® Profiles which have made REALTOR.ca even more appealing for first-time buyers, those looking for their next property and those looking for a REALTOR®.

In early 2017, look for the 2016 REALTOR.ca Insights Report for a more detailed story of how residential and commercial property buyers and renters were looking, sharing and behaving online and on REALTOR.ca in 2016. As always, you can get last year’s Insights Report as well as quarterly search term reports at REALTORLink.ca/insights.

As former Consumer Insights Manager, Paul Dombowsky knows trends. Paul joined the team in early 2013, reporting on typical and atypical web statistics, tracking involvement with REALTORS® across all platforms, and developed a culture of measurement, engagement, and evidence-based decision making. When not at work, Paul splits his time penning a book on digital engagement and speaking on the topic at various events around the world; a pretty good gig considering his passion for travel and photography.
